#3: First Weekend: Port Nagoya Aquarium & Mustard Seed Christian Church (June 15-16)

My first of six open weekends on this trip had several highlights, one of the biggest being a trip to Port Nagoya and its popular aquarium Saturday. It had many large sea turtles and some energetic dolphins that put on the best dolphin show I've ever seen. The killer whale didn't look too happy in his tank though. One of my favorites though was the pufferfish, which I don't think I've ever seen one before and definitely not up close. They are very fascinating fish and have great colors. The Nagoya Port is also breathtaking to look at from a balcony and had docked there a massive coast guard-like ship with a helicopter on it.

Sunday my fellow student Teddy Sizemore and I visited Mustard Seed Christian Church, recommended by Bill and Teresa Hughes, and enjoyed their bilingual service. Their bilingual worship was my favorite part, which involved the whole congregation singing a verse or two in Japanese, then a verse or two in English, and letting both Japanese and non-Japanese attendees have a chance to sing in the other's language as well as their own, and the lyrics on the projector were displayed in both languages.
